Dr. Paul Kelly began his service at Gateway Seminary in Fall 2009 as the chair and professor of Educational Leadership. His teaching responsibilities include the courses for the youth ministry certificate as well as other educational leadership courses. Prior to coming to Gateway, Kelly served as vice president of ministry resources at Student Life Publishing, editor-in-chief of discipleship resources in Student Ministry Publishing at LifeWay Christian Resources, as well as a youth specialist in Discipleship at LifeWay. He served churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Illinois.
Kelly serves as the Senior Editor of the Journal of Youth Ministry, and has contributed chapters to Ministry in the New Marriage Culture (Jeff Iorg, ed.) and Christian Education: A Guide to the Foundations of Ministry (Freddy Cordoza, ed.). He has published dozens of Bible studies, study courses, articles, and devotionals for youth and adults. He also serves on the Board of the Association of Youth Ministry Educators and is a member of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry.
Kelly’s doctoral research focused on similarities in youth ministry objectives across cultures. He has a strong interest in cross-cultural ministry and is a regular guest professor in locations such as the Philippines, the Ivory Coast and Armenia.
